Built around a family’s history, Freedom Lodge combines substantial stonework with reclaimed hand-hewn timbers sourced from a barn in the homeowner’s Indiana hometown. Those older materials run throughout the home, giving the new construction an immediate sense of age and permanence.

The more traditional structure is balanced with steel-framed glass, a translucent stair wall and lighter contemporary finishes. Designed to accommodate family and large groups, the home moves from expansive gathering spaces to bunk rooms, quiet bedrooms and a separate guesthouse, all with a strong connection to the surrounding Big Sky landscape.
